Quote of the Week: Haim Ginott

After I posted this image to Facebook, I was reminded by contributors from outside the United States that there are countries with legislation prohibiting spanking, so this quote may be untrue depending on your context.  My purpose is not to open a debate regarding the effectiveness or the prudence of enacting legislation to govern parenting styles (for those who would defend spanking as a viable choice for raising children), but to cause us all to think critically about the decisions we make in the name of teaching behavior.

If you are a parent or educator looking for some alternatives to typical ways of guiding children’s behavior, here is a small collection or articles that might be helpful.
